Before and After your Tan
What you do before and after tanning is critical to its final results and longevity.
For the best results
Before Tanning:
- Shave and exfoliate thoroughly. Pay special attention to your legs, knees, ankles, feet, elbows and knuckles. This will eliminate dead skin cells and prepare you skin for a flawless tan.
- Make sure you skin is free of lotions, oils, prior sunless tanning product and deodorant.
IMPORTANT: Please inform technician if you are currently or have recently been using any type of acne or Retin A products. (Any drug that contains Tretinoin).
Clothing:
It is recommended that you wear dark, loose fitting attire after being sprayed to avoid rubbing off areas of your tan.
- Most minor rub off will easily wash out of most fabrics, but some lighter colored materials, including leather and silk may stain. Dark cotton works best.
- Wear an old, dark colored bathing suit or undergarments to be sprayed in.
After Tanning:
- Do not shower or wet your skin for at least 4 hours after being sprayed. (Tanning technician will advise you of how long you should wait until showering based on your skin type and desired results.)
- Avoid activities that would cause you to perspire between the tanning session and showering phase.
- Avoid extremely hot showers, long exposure to chlorinated pools or hot tubs.
- Do not use any loofah or washcloth when showering (avoid exfoliation). This will cause the color to come off sooner.
- Liquid soaps applied by hand are ok. After you shower for the first time and every time after that, moisturize your entire body and face.
- Avoid any products designed to exfoliate. This will help extend the life of your tan.
THE MORE YOU MOISTURIZE THE LONGER IT LASTS!
It also determines how it fades. It is recommended to moisturize 2-3 times. The face and hands usually fade first because we wash our face & hands more often.
You may also purchase Tan in the Can for $35 per can. This is great for the face, hands, or touch-ups in between tans.
